Network Cabling Installation Forum

by Network Cabling Guy on June 8, 2011

This is the first post on a new Network Cabling “blog” for all the cabling professionals out on the front lines. We know how unrealistic all the general contractors, customers & architects can be when it comes to practical solutions to everyday challenges. Let’s share our experiences here and I’m sure we can learn from each other!
Please feel free to jump in and share your war stories or suggestions for Front Line solutions to cabling installation hurdles! Pictures and videos are welcome.

Troubleshooting must be a blast!

This picture is a little extreme but we do see some ugly work out there everyday. If people just took a little time, sloppy work could be avoided. This patch cord mess was probably created by the customer’s own IT guys. The contractor who did the install probably did a nice job. Once you turn over the space to the customer it’s out of your hands.

The way it should be done!

This was a recent Cat 6 install. This is how it should be done. We teach our professionals to take pride in their work everyday at every task they perform. This attitude will no doubt lead to satisfied customers and a great reputation.
Look forward to hearing from the Front Lines
