A Review of the Fluke Microscanner
The Fluke MicroScanner2 Cable Tester changes the way you will think about voice, data, and video cable testing. Instead of testing for wiremap, fault distance, length, far end device and cable ID this fluke meter will display all four tests simultaneous. There is no need to buy adaptors for all your different cable types anymore. The Microscanner has RJ11, RJ45 and coax inputs. This cable tester will speed up your production and reduce wiring mistakes out in the field. If there is an error it will be identified and fixed quickly.
First Rule Out Your Cabling Install
The first thing you need to do when encountering a network issue is determine if it is a problem with your cable or not. There can be hundreds of root causes to the problem. The Fluke Microscanner will quickly tell you if you have a wiring issue or not. Once that is determined you can move to the next step. If it is a network equipment problem you can advise the network team and they can get working on it. In this case, if your technicians do not have the right tools they will end up spinning their wheels. Is there voltage on the line? Do we have reversed polarity? Is there a network switch at the far end? Is PoE installed? MicroScanner2 acknowledges this, to give your cable technicians the right tool to answer today’s most common voice, data, and video questions. That means faster, more comprehensive troubleshooting.
Highlights of the Fluke MicroScanner²:
- Revolutionary Interface – wiremap, cable length, cable identification, and fault distance displayed on one screen
- Multiconnector Support – tests all common media types including RJ11, RJ45, Coax, no adapters needed
- Intelli Tone Toning – locates virtually any cable or wire pair with IntelliTone digital and analog toning
- Tough as Nails Housing – the rubber holster gives you a firm grip and makes it rugged enough for tough jobs
- Large Display – large, backlit LCD makes results crystal clear whether in bright sunshine or in a dark closet
- VDV Service Detection – verifies today’s media services, including 10/100/1000 Ethernet, POTS, and PoE
Revolutionary Interface
The revolutionary Fluke Microscanner allows you to view– wiremap, pair lengths, distance to fault, cable ID, and far end device – all on one screen. Gone are the days of toggling back and forth between four different screens. This would not just slow down production of the cable technicians but also cause frustration and in the end more wiring errors. This Fluke meter features a large, backlit LCD screen with the ability to present wiremap results graphically, which brings better understanding and easy identifying of wiring problems.
